Weekly Roundup

Following my near breakdown from my workload two weeks ago, I actually intentionally kept it light on my blog this week. I spent a bunch of time with Will and volunteered at the book fair at his school this week. It’s about the only PTA activity I do all year, and I love doing it because I love to read and now Will loves to read too. Thursday I took the time out of my schedule to meet Will’s class at the book fair (per Will’s request) and he ignored his friends and hung out with me, his mom, the whole time. He is 8 and I know he won’t choose me over his friends for much longer, so it pretty much made my year.

On my blog on Monday I talked about finding somebody to love, especially when you are in debt and then yesterday I shared Kassandra’s story about finding love in debt on my podcast. I also had two awesome posts over at Stacking Benjamins, one was about preparing for market hysteria and the other was about the differing views of the market and the Fed.

Posts I enjoyed this week:

  1. Erin at Broke Millennial shared an honest struggle of being a breadwinning woman. As the wife of a teacher, I definitely understand where she is coming from.
  2. Kali at Commonsense Millennial talked about her holiday spending plans or lack thereof. I am bummed she is going on a blogging break, but at least she went out with a bang.
  3. Kim at Eyes on the Dollar presented a great analysis of the possibility of her daughter going to Stanford.
  4. Mel at Broke Girl Rich lamented on wedding season.
  5. DC at Young Adult Money shared 10 financial moves for people in their 20s.

Thank Yous

Thank you to Natalie at The Finance Girl for sharing my post in her round up this week. Thank you to Kassandra for singing on my podcast and allowing me to include it even though she didn’t want to. 🙂

This weekend I am in South Carolina to celebrate my brother-in-law’s wedding, and I cracked up last night because I literally counseled a young couple who is engaged at the guy has student loan debt. I told them they needed to read my blog and listen to this week’s podcast.

What are your weekend plans?
